I usually don't spend this much time away from my blog...makes it sound kinda silly, like it is some kind of security blanket, but I guess to mirror what my friend Brooke said, I do consider it some kind of connection to the outside world when everything gets so hectic and crazy I can barely keep my head above water.
So many things have been happening, my little girl turned four, we had quite the "dora the explorer party....post to come soon, katie and carter's mother's day celebration at school, and the normal (okay, usually crazy) happenings of my two monkeys. There has been some sad, some good, some scary, some dissapointing...cause that's life. Real life. My life.
In complete random-ness, I am completely heartbroken that my virtual boyfriend, Danny Gokey, was the latest victim of America's vote on American Idol. His rendition of "You Are So Beautiful To Me" made my heart melt like a silly teenager...oh, Danny. I will miss you. Please be like Chris Daughtry and make it anyway so I can see more of your beautiful face! (Just so you know...I voted for you before your demise at least 200 times...I promise.)
I have been working very, very hard lately. After my normal job of being the Office Manager of an IT company here in Broadripple in the mornings, I have been spending all of my time grading a Reading Comprehension question for California's version of the ISTEP test. It's an online job I "scored" (no pun intended...haha) because even though I'm not teaching anymore, my liscense is still active. I get paid by the answer...and the project only lasts as long as there is work to do so I've been working as much as I can. I also am preparing to teach an American Literature course both fall and spring semester for a homeschool co-op in my community. I'm excited about the opportunity...it's only one day a week, and I won't have to reinvent the wheel, so to speak, because of all the materials I have from teaching for six years. Score. As one of my closest friends reminded me, being a mom is most definitely a job, so I guess all together that counts as a lot of jobs. Whew. I'm getting kinda tired just thinking about all of that. (Yet it's 4:29 am and I'm awake writing this....).

Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.

I love being your family.
1) I am so with you on the Danny issue. After he left, I refused to watch the show anymore!
2) I still have my entire binder of American Literature stuff from when I taught it at Cornerstone. You are welcome to it if you want it. Remember, they are ultra consertative. I once selected some material that was fine at other Christian and public schools but did not fly there. We can talk about that later ;) GOOD LUCK!
I am so glad that Pearson is working out this go round. See you Sunday?
