My daughter (unfortunately) is nearing that stage where afternoon naps are just not needed. Not to sound lazy, but I do cherish my two hours of peace in the afternoon. So...she is allowed to play in her room (quietly) and usually most days she does fall asleep. The days she doesn't take a nap...WOW...you really don't want to be around her. My son would sleep ALL day if allowed...so funny, because he was my baby that NEVER slept.
When Katie gets up we get to have mama and kj time. It's always a time I love...just Katie and I, talking about school and family, whatever her little four year old mind comes up with. Don't get me wrong..I adore both of my children, but because they are so close in age, it's hard to have one on one time with either of them.
Today we colored...KJ's favorite thing to do with me. She insisted that I color a picture for her, and she would do the same for me. She is so cute...and so good at staying in the lines! I wrote to:KJ, love, mama on my picture and then had to get up to go get Bubby from bed. When I got back, she had written: to mama, love kj, by looking at my picture! So smart!

hard to believe that strawberry shortcake has made such a return!
