Here's a surprise: I am generally really really uncoordinated. After a total of six ankle surgeries on the same ankle, this would appear to be pretty apparent. (although I do have to give myself a little bit of credit...they were a result of sports inuries :) Let's face it, I loved basketball and playing in college was a dream, but it just wasn't meant to be.
I have always hoped, since the day they were born, that my children did NOT inherit my clumsiness. The verdict is still out on my sweet boy, but so far, my Katie...wow. She skips, jumps, swims, runs...and now can even play hopscotch like a champ! This is especially exciting for me as I think about the statistics against her even walking at all...or having other handicaps because of her prematurity.
We've had a blast playing hopscotch in the driveway, and admittedly my five year old beats me...all the time. Hopping on one leg? No good for me. Even Carter has been practicing...I know every parent says this, but they are really so cute.

oh, this makes me tear up remembering when we used to play hopscotch. She is so beautiful...and, silly mom, she does look like you...and Carter is so handsome. I miss them. I am excited for this weekend.
